SHE stands for Spiritual Human Evolution and has its heart in the teaching of Bernie Prior, Evolutionary Visionary, and co-founder of She Café.
The inspiration for the café was to develop a new dynamic expression of Bernie Prior's teaching – to create ‘a place of inspiration for the human spirit.’ She Café was established by Suzanne Johnson and Bernie Prior in 2004, with the support of an inspired global team. The first seven years of ‘She’ have been a true evolutionary adventure, with unforeseen challenges and opportunities stretching us into unknown territory. A major fire just nine months after opening meant major re-building and enabled the main dining room to be opened up to host weddings, functions and Live@She music events. It forced us to expand when we didn’t think we were ready! Soon after, Oonagh Browne developed a passion for creating chocolate and with the support of business partner Declan Scott, She Chocolate was born. The now famous Decadent Date was the first tasty experiment of She Chocolate - initially sold via the Lyttelton Farmers Market to customer's delight. She Chocolat evolved out of the merging of She Chocolate and She Café and is constantly expanding. Wholesaling chocolates around NZ and online around the world, it also now includes a mobile chocolate café and evolutionary cinema onboard our 1947 London Double Decker Bus, and a Hot Chocolate Bar at 'The Colombo', in Christchurch City. Thanks to the fire, our building has suffered only minor damage through all the recent earthquakes and so we were grateful to be able to support the Christchurch community post earthquake in various ways. We are living in extraordinary times. As to the next seven years for ‘She’... our next project is to develop our cellar into a space for The Form – Reality Practice™, ... and we have some ideas of international expansion.
