CHOCOLATE FONDUE
This is the perfect dessert for fun and experiencing chocolate with new flavours:
If you are planning a chocolate fondue, keep an eye out for some creative ideas that might go with the chocolate sauce. Chocolate is such an ancient food on the planet, that so many other flavours have grown over it, that it can be successfully woven through so many foods. Try: Fruit, dried fruits, nuts, liquorice, cheese(yes definitely, all types), salted crackers, avocado, beetroot(steamed)…. (Please write to me and share some of your crazy wild ideas that have worked with the fondue) Chocolate sauce: 75g’s of the finest dark chocolate (minimum 56%) chopped 50g’s sugar 25g’s high grade cocoa powder 250g’s Cream Make the fondue sauce just before serving the fondue. It is not necessary to have it over a flame, in fact it is better if it is not, as it will burn too easily of get too hot!! Boil the cream sugar and cocoa powder, and pour over the chopped chocolate Blend until smooth Allow to slightly cool, serve warm Fondue is better as a sauce, rather than pure chocolate over a flame, if too hot the taste of the chocolate will not come through and blend with the fruit etc. Encourage your guests to lick their fingers and the chocolate sauce from the bottom of the bowl – let the chocolate experience fully have you!!!!! |
