Choosing A Wedding Venue
She's in house wedding co-ordinator has put together some tips for choosing a wedding venue – This comes from her vast experience in delivering weddings beyond expectations...
1. VisionThis is YOUR sacred and special day. Start with an idea of the big picture and be open minded enough to be pleasantly surprised by the twists and turns along the way. Life has a way of steering you in the right direction even when the unexpected appears. Trust your inner knowing.....it's going to be AMAZING!
2. Values
Do you have values or beliefs that you would like to be embraced within your venue for either the ceremony or the reception? How would you like these values to be expressed?
3. Connection, Clarity
The bride & groom's connection & trust in a venue's wedding co-ordinator is the key to the ease and enjoyment in arranging a wedding. Do you resonate with him/her? Is she/he inspired by your vision and has a desire to work with you, ensuring your special day is truly a wonderful unique occasion. Do you feel confident in their ability to translate your vision into a reality?
4. Catering
Try the cuisine at the venue to ensure it matches your expectations. The meal is definitely something guests remember and in our case, especially the chocolate! Choose cuisine that you prefer and you can be confident that your friends and family will love also. There are many different options available - ensure you are well informed about all the possibilities.
5. Flexibility, Budget
If your wedding co-ordinator is inspired by your vision he/she should be in a position to work with you on various options to fulfil your dream within your budget. Later start times or weekday weddings can make venue hires easier on the budget. Liaise with your chosen wedding co-ordinator to work out what your priorities are for allocations within your venue budget.
NOTE:You don't have to spend a fortune to have a wonderful wedding. A well delivered "Welcome to your venue speech" by your wedding co-ordinator, with a reminder to guests that the bride and groom have very generously provided the chosen beverages, cuisine & music for the evening especially for them to enjoy, can help to remind people what a privilege it is to be part of your special day! 6. Enquire and Enjoy! If there is anything you don't understand or is not contained in the information provided by the venue ASK! Check out photos of previous weddings so you can get a visual glimpse of your wedding's potential. Experienced wedding co-ordinators have valuable knowledge of weddings beyond the knowledge of the venue and may be open to assisting with ideas or contacts for other aspects of your wedding plans. 7. Have Fun
And most of all enjoy the process - have fun and if necessary eat lots of chocolate! Being well prepared and organised takes the stress out of the process and working with a professional wedding co-ordinator and venue can make it the enjoyable and inspiring project your wedding planning should be. And remember always...... it is going to be AMAZING!
